Jeff is the founder of Covenant Community Church, a prototype Southern Baptist Church located in Central Florida where he lives with his wife and two children. His role at Covenant is officially known as “Senior Equipping Minister” and he leads the preaching and teaching ministries of CCC. Covenant is a church that is “touching and changing the world with the love of Jesus.”
Jeff received his Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1987. Prior to that he graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1984 after he had taken a tour and sampled the courses offered at a few other state institutions. These institutions included Florida State University and the University of Central Florida.
He was ordained in 1983 by Killarney Baptist Church of Winter Park, Florida. He has served in several churches throughout Florida and Texas. Whether ministering in the Metroplex of Texas, the beaches of South Florida, or in the Magical Kingdom of Central Florida, Jeff has led high-energy ministries focusing on training and developing believers in their journey of faith. He is seen and heard on-line in 138 countries each week, his teaching is viewed and downloaded by thousands each week, and the international ministry has continued to expand through the podcasts he teaches on.
Jeff believes strongly in maximizing his giftedness and encouraging others to use their gifts in ways that shine. Often that results in something that others call creative. However Jeff believes that we are created to be creative. Often that creativity has been seen in the celebration worship experiences at CCC, the variety of ways that a message is communicated, and the style of the ministry of Covenant and in the approach he takes in impacting the culture. In addition Jeff has worked in creative think tanks for entertainment and themed experience groups in the Central Florida area.
